Retaining Wall in Novato

New construction retaining wall to shore a hillside behind a new building.

Novato, CA - The client was looking to build a new drive up structure on the property behind the existing single family home. The challenge, a huge hillside backed up to the existing house meaning in order to get the required square footage, the client needed to build into the hillside. Golden State Shoring created detailed structural plans and drawings to create a 60ft wide and 22' high tiered retaing wall.

This retaining wall included 40 tieback anchor bolts that would hold the hillside from any mud slides after a heavy rain. It also included building a rebar supported concrete wall using shotcrete to apply the concrete 22' high.

The project lasted 4 weeks and when finished the client could rest assured that the new property would never see any damage from the hillside above.
