Shotcrete
Building Retaining Walls
Shotcrete stands as a specialized method for applying concrete at high velocity, primarily onto vertical or overhead surfaces. The force of application consolidates the concrete, resulting in hardened properties akin to traditional cast-in-place concrete. What sets shotcrete apart is its exceptional bonding ability with most substrates and its rapid or instant curing capabilities, especially on intricate forms or shapes. This technique minimizes the need for extensive formwork, making it a cost-effective choice compared to conventional concrete placement methods. Shotcrete can be applied using either the wet-mix process, where all ingredients, including water, are mixed before being introduced into the delivery hose, or the dry-mix process, which adds water to the mix at the nozzle. It finds applications in both new construction and repair projects, proving particularly suitable for curved and thin elements due to its versatile nature.
